CHLOE LAUTER’s debut novel The Flayed Man has been praised by Kirkus, Booklist and Library Journal, and is a CALIBA Golden Poppy Book Award Finalist and an August 2026 Indie Next pick. Chicago Review of Books called it “everything you want in a literary horror novel.”

Her work explores monstrosity, autonomy and embodiment through a horror lens. Originally from Seattle, she now lives in Los Angeles.
